Reading Beekeepers can only collect honey bee swarms. These may be seen hanging in a bunch as in the photo here.
The collection service is free of charge and often involves two visits to site (one to place the bunch of bees into a box and a later visit the same day, usually at dusk, to take them away).
For more information about what is and is not a honey bee swarm, please see our swarms page.
You can contact one of our swarm collectors directly by phone (numbers and areas below). You can also enter details on the form further down the page. That will provide the information to the swarms coordinator.
The more details you can include on the form, the better. If possible, include some photos of both the swarm itself (if you can safely get close enough) and of where it is. In the Location box, please enter a short location indicator, e.g. postcode, what3words, grid reference. If there is other useful information (e.g. "at the end of a footpath", "in the back garden"), please include that in the Description box.
